Nature Camp
.
David Kucia, Lead, Raptor Camp Instructor
.
David KuciaDavid Kucia earned his BS in Natural Resource Management & Policy as well as minor in Biology from Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks of New York.
.
He has spent the last year working as a Wildlife Biologist down in Connecticut where he worked with animals ranging from flying squirrels and bats up to foxes and raccoons. Prior to that he worked as an Environmental Educator in the Berkshire Mountains, and also in the Adirondack Mountains where he taught fishing, birding and ecology lessons. This is David’s first season, but he is excited to jump on in and get to learn all that VINS has to offer as well as befriend the local raptors.
.
David also has been involved with his local high school track & field team for the past two years coaching hurdlers, jumpers and sprinters. In between practice and meets he also has been involved in search and rescue efforts in the Northeast.
.
When it comes to the outdoors, David is no stranger as he has done almost every activity one can do in the outdoors including some of his favorites, hiking/camping, birding and canoeing. He has been on several sport teams ranging from racing at the international level to pick-up club sports just for fun. If it’s something that is fun to do and involves the outdoors, chances are David has done it or will do it soon.
