Membership Development Coordinator

The Membership Development Coordinator is a full-time position (40 hours). The position requires excellent constituent and team relations, organizational and communication skills. The Membership Development Coordinator is an events-heavy position with significant opportunities to assume responsibilities across a wide range of fundraising, relationship building, marketing, and communications activities. Consistent efforts to significantly increase revenue and strengthening the Adopt a Raptor and Membership programs.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Executive Director

JOB LOCATION: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, Vermont

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the organization’s constituent database using the Front Stream-Giftworks fundraising software, including creating queries, preparing management reports, and analyzing data to increase funding, memberships and responsiveness to constituents
  • Maintain and build the membership program to a viable source of income for the organization
  • Create an annual Membership drive to promote new members
  • Create specific events for Members only to enhance the benefit program
  • Consistently promote and refresh the Adopt a Raptor Program in support of the Center for Wild Bird Rehabilitation
  • Retain current members and seek an annual member survey for their opinions to adjust the benefit program
  • Overseeing initiatives on corporate partnership and sponsorship
  • Cultivates and stewards’ relationships with current supporters, members and individual donors
  • Prepares background reports on prospective donors using databases, internet, and other
    public information sources
  • Participates appeal and gift processing and assists with all development and marketing administrative functions
  • Supports auction procurement efforts, and prepare silent auction materials
  • Record and track event data and constituent information including budget information, registration
    lists and results
  • Process donations and memberships, generate and track tax-receipts and acknowledgement letters
  • Help ensure the smooth operation of the office and other duties


The successful employee must be proficient at using standard Microsoft Office applications – including Excel, Word, and Outlook – as well as the donor-based software. Experience in raising funds from diverse sources, including major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Compensation & Work Schedule

Commensurate with experience.
