Watch a puppet show and listen to songs about frogs and toads. Compare frogs and toads at different points in their life cycle – as eggs, tadpoles, and adults.  Play the Insect Card Game and hop like a frog (or toad) down to the vernal pool at VINS. Can you catch anything in your aquatic net?

Little Explorers: 10:15 – 11:00 AM
Explore the vernal pool at VINS and learn about the amphibians and insects who rely on this temporary habitat. Take an aquatic net and see what macroinvertebrates you can catch. and examine the skeleton of a bullfrog. Consider where different animals go when the vernal pool dries up and whether they will return.
