Hooked on Owls: A Beginning Rug Hooking Class
Saturday, March 30 / 10 AM – 1 PM
$80 General Public, $75 VINS Member
$25 Materials Fee
Includes pattern, hook, and enough wool to finish the design. The frame students will use in class can be purchased for an additional fee if desired (cash or check only).
This 3-hour class is an introduction to traditional rug hooking. The instruction will include the basic techniques to hook the owl pattern provided. Discussions will cover tools and equipment, different fibers, finishing methods, and much more.
No experience necessary. Adults 17+ only.
Participants should bring a small pair of scissors and basket or tray for holding materials.
Instructor Bio:
Sandra Grant is a fiber artist and rug hooker with a background and Master’s degree in teaching art in schools. She has been a League of New Hampshire Craftsmen member since 2016 and is the Education Chair for Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild. Sandra designs and hooks large birds with hand-dyed wools and other materials.
