802.359.5000 | WILD BIRD HOTLINE: x510
September 1, 2018 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
One event on September 7, 2019 at 10:00 am
The first Saturday in September is International Vulture Awareness Day! Come join us to learn about these amazing, ecologically important creatures, and even meet a few up close. Help spread awareness of the conservation issues facing vulture species in Africa, Asia, and here in North America, while you fly through our vulture-themed activities. Compare your wingspan to that of a Turkey Vulture, or a California Condor, and find out how a vulture’s stomach can digest the meat they eat. We’ll explore how vultures are viewed in human cultures throughout history, and how our health relies on these birds doing what they do best.
Meet our Turkey Vulture ambassador: Poultney
