Yoga Walk: A Meditative Tour of VINS
Sunday, July 17 / 9 AM – 10:30 AM
Experience the VINS Nature Center through the lens of yoga. During this meditative event, participants will stroll mindfully through the grounds, pausing to do simple yoga poses in the woods, by the water, and on the Forest Canopy Walk. Most of this workshop will be spent in silence. Enjoy being quiet and present among the sounds of morning birds as you experience the Nature Center before the grounds are open to the public. Local yoga teacher, “Miss Amanda” Anderson, will weave in yogic mythology as well as mindfulness techniques and accessible yoga poses throughout this event, and this workshop will culminate with an unforgettable Forest Canopy relaxation.
All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Participants should wear clothes to stretch in, shoes for walking, and bring a mat, blanket, or towel to carry along for the final relaxation.
Cost Per Session:
General Public $33; VINS Members $30
Meet Miss Amanda
Miss Amanda teaches Kundalini yoga, with an emphasis on internal awareness. This process has deepened her teaching into an invitation for her students to transform. Her own practice includes daily Kundalini poses and meditation, which make her unstoppable! Whether on a Yoga Hike, in a Kundalini class, on the Thai Yoga massage mat, or in her weekly inspirational emails, Miss Amanda’s mission remains the same — to inspire you to connect with your fundamental goodness and strength. Through the use of yogic techniques and philosophies, you too can come into a state of deep peace and lasting ananda, the Sanskrit word for bliss. Learn more at innerliftyoga.com.
Masks are optional at the VINS Nature Center. In the event of rain, this event will be postponed to Sunday, July 24.
