APRIL 2 - AUGUST 31 - View artwork by Margaret (Peggy) Lampe Kannenstine in the Neale Pavilion at the VINS Nature Center. Peggy is a local artist whose acrylic paintings and works on paper have been shown widely for decades and can be seen in many collections around the country.
MAY 15 - Join VINS for a two-part workshop this spring, which includes a virtual workshop and guided bird walk! The virtual workshop which will introduce you to common birds. On May 18, 25 or June 1, take an early morning birding adventure through the various habitats at the VINS Nature Center.
In this intimate encounter you will explore the fascinating lives of raptors. Delve deep into subjects ranging from how we rehabilitate hundreds of birds each year, the fundamentals of how we train our raptors to the specialties of certain raptor groups like falcons and owls.
MAY 15 - Join local photojournalist Rob Strong for an exclusive photo shoot with our resident raptors that will leave you with stunning pictures and great memories. With a focus on capturing movement, our hawk and other raptor models will be flying for the camera, allowing you to get amazing action shots.
MAY 21 - Are you intrigued by the wild world of mushroom and plant foraging? Join Ari Rockland-Miller of The Mushroom Forager on a guided tour of spring's wild edibles as we search for tender new greens and early season mushrooms. The workshop will feature a guided foray of the woods around the VINS Nature Center with an eye towards the early culinary treasures of springtime.
