802.359.5000 | WILD BIRD REHAB: x212
SEPTEMBER 3 - NOVEMBER 30 - Fine art photographer Jennifer MaHarry channels her love of wildlife into images that capture the spirit of each subject. Jennifer tries to show wild animals as individuals with nuanced personalities and emotions. She believes that the more people empathize with these creatures, the more they'll be inspired to protect them.
SEPTEMBER 11 - Are you intrigued by the wild world of mushroom and plant foraging? Join Ari Rockland-Miller of The Mushroom Forager on a guided tour of wild mushrooms, featuring a guided foray of the woods around the VINS Nature Center with an eye towards the early culinary treasures of autumn.
Join us as we explore the natural world through the eyes of raptors. Be amazed by these efficient predators in an engaging presentation featuring VINS’ feathered ambassadors.
In this intimate encounter you will explore the fascinating lives of raptors. Delve deep into subjects ranging from how we rehabilitate hundreds of birds each year, the fundamentals of how we train our raptors to the specialties of certain raptor groups like falcons and owls.
Join a VINS Educator to learn all about our resident reptiles! We’ll listen to stories about how these creatures got their awesome adaptations, and meet a turtle or a snake.
SEPTEMBER 6, 13, 20, & 27 - Join us at the VINS Nature Center for a Homeschool Series! Each lesson will take place in our Outdoor Classroom or August Pavilion which provide the perfect settings for outdoor exploration and nature play in the company of other families.
