Field Trip Form

Book Your Field Trip

Please follow the prompts on this form to provide us with the information we need to give you a quote and potential dates. A copy of your responses will be emailed to you upon submission.

Please read the following information which answers many of the questions frequently asked:

  • We are often fully booked for May and June field trips by the beginning of April. By booking far in advance you'll have more options for dates and lesson topics especially if you have a large group.  Field trips require a minimum of 10 students and all lessons include a maximum of no more than 25 students at a time.  If you have a large group, please divide your students into groups ahead of time so that lessons will be limited in numbers.  Please enjoy self-guided time when not engaged in a lesson.
  • Our suggested arrival time is 9:30 AM (and 9:00 AM if signing up for our Gorge Hike Lesson). We are happy to accommodate all school groups as early as 9:00 AM and recognize some groups may not be able to arrive until 10:00 AM which may mean we can’t offer your lesson of choice. In order to enjoy all that this experience has to offer, we recommend staying until 2:00 PM.  For a sample field trip schedule, please click here.
  • Additional information around how to check-in upon arrival, payment, lunch, weather, and what to bring will be provided for you upon a confirmation email.
We are committed to keeping all visitors that come to the VINS Nature Center safe. We are taking the following measures to ensure safety for all schools that plan to come for Field Trips:

  • VINS Field Trips will maintain all health guidance, as well as direction from the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, as it relates to public outdoor spaces.
  • All Field Trips to the VINS Nature Center will take place in our open-air, Outdoor Classroom or our new August Pavilion (outdoor).
  • Seating in our Outdoor Classroom or August Pavilion will allow for social distancing between students, chaperones and educators.
  • VINS Educators and Field Trip participants will wear masks at all times.
  • Hand sanitizer and/or handwashing will be provided for Field Trip participants to use before and after handling materials.
  • All materials will be sanitized prior to and after use.

These protocols are subject to change at any point to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.
