Homeschool lessons at VINS for PreK to Grade 5

Anyone can sign up for these days, whether you participate in our regular series, are on one of our waitlists, or you live at a distance.  Join us for science, nature, and fun! Parent/Guardian presence is required during all programs.  If you have children in multiple grade bands, please contact us so we can help you meet this requirement and register appropriately

  • Participants are required to wear masks, maintain social distance and wash hands prior to the start of the lesson. 
  • All materials are disinfected before and after each lesson.
  • Lessons are taught outside.

We are unable to refund any sessions that are missed due to travel, illness or other commitments. In the event that VINS has to cancel a lesson or lessons, families will receive a full refund for the value of those missed lesson(s).

Homeschool Day: Tracking & Animal Signs

When: February 8, 2021 (Rain Date: February 9, 2021)
Location: At VINS
Cost: $38 per child & accompanying adult

Join our Science Educators in person at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science for a hands-on exploration of tracking and other animal signs. Learn about the best places to find tracks, how to identify certain animals by their footprints, and where else to look for signs of animal passage besides the ground. We will be moving around for this lesson, but be sure to bundle up!

  • Small Wonders (PreK): 10:00 AM -10:45 AM
  • Little Explorers (K-2): 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Nature’s Adventurers (Grades 3-5): 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Registration Deadline Friday, February 4

Parent/Guardian presence is required during all programs.
