Make your own Play Dough
Play Dough – what can you build?
Materials:
- Playdough recipe (see below)
- Food coloring (optional)
- An adult to help out!
What to do:
- Make the play dough and let cool
- Let your imagination run wild! What animal can you make? What structure can you build?
- If you want, add some small sticks, rocks or other natural materials to your design (but keep in mind that your play dough will pick up dirt and bark and would need to be discarded afterwards)
Play Dough Recipe
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup salt
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 2 Tablespoons oil
Mix ingredients together in a pot and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and cool. Knead and place in a plastic bag to store. If desired, divide the play dough into three balls, and add a couple drops of food coloring to each ball. Knead the play dough to thoroughly mix the color.
