Bark Beetle Kit

Discover the hidden world under the tree bark! Students have the opportunity to explore the windy tracks left in the wood by the bark beetle while investigating the ecological role of the bark beetle and how it can both help and harm forest communities. Students will also learn about the process of spalting wood and the role of fungi in the discoloration. This kit helps students learn about different organisms that affect trees and the health of the wood.
