General Admission Tickets

Admission tickets are not date-specific and may be used any day.  There is no deadline. 

Masks are encouraged, but not required.

*We highly recommend prepurchasing your admission tickets. We welcome all walk-ins. If you are a VINS Member, please show your photo ID along with your Membership card when you arrive at the nature center.

To use a Medicaid Card or your Library's VINS Membership Card, please show your card and purchase tickets upon entry.

By showing your valid VT or NH EBT card you can receive $5 per person in your household up to two adults and two youth, children 3 and under are free.

All exhibits (including the Forest Canopy Walk) are included with general admission.

All outdoor exhibits are open: Raptors, Songbird Aviary, Adventure Playscape, Nature Trails, and the amazing Forest Canopy Walk. Our indoor exhibits are open: Birds Are Dinosaurs, Forest Exhibit, and Reptile Room.

Member Appreciation Day

We offer relevant environmental education programs for adults, families, and school children; partner with leading conservation organizations to promote environmental science field research; and operate New England’s premier avian wildlife rehabilitation clinic at the VINS Nature Center.

The Center for Wild Bird Rehabilitation continues to receive injured birds from 8:00am – 4:00pm daily. Please call to alert staff that you are bringing an injured bird at 802.359.5000 x212 or after hours x510.

Accessibility

The VINS Nature Center campus is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Spend some time on our nature trails - the McKnight Trail and the Forest Canopy Walk are ADA-accessible, allowing visitors of all abilities and ages to experience the outdoors and get eye level with the treetops.

Pet Policy

The VINS Nature Center does not allow pets on campus. Pets are permitted only in the parking lot and must be on a leash. As required by the ADA, trained service animals may be admitted because of a disability*. Please do not leave your pet unattended in your vehicle. 

*Due to the lack of physical barriers between Aviary birds and guests, Service Animals are not permitted inside the Songbird Aviary.

VINS is committed to offering quality environmental education experiences to all, regardless of financial ability. Because we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the wonders of our Nature Center, we offer reduced admission to those who need it most.

  • Only Vermont or New Hampshire EBT cards are accepted.
  • By showing your valid VT or NH EBT card you can receive $5 per person in your household up to two adults and two youth, children 3 and under are free.
  • By showing your Medicaid card you will receive $5 admission.
