ARTWORK
Paintings & Photography

Join us for a showcase of four artists who work at the VINS Nature Center. From watercolor to gouache to photography, there is a mix of mediums to admire.

Kelly Gadouas, Educator
As an artist, Kelly has over 25 years of experience working primarily with watercolor as well as acrylic paintings. Earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mass Art, in Boston, she has spent years teaching visual arts to artists ranging in ages from five to 85. Kelly finds peace and renewal through spending time in nature. Her love of the natural world inspires paintings of songbirds, raptors and landscapes.

Emily Fraser, Research Biologist
Emily's primary mediums are watercolor and gouache and subjects include birds and other animals. Her work can be found around the VINS campus, from the Forest Canopy Walk to the Beaver Lodge for Young Explorers. She runs an Etsy shop where she has painted dozens of pet portraits since 2018.

Tammy Willens, Accountant
Originally from New England, Tammy is a nature photographer. She specializes in capturing the beauty of nature and landscapes, particularly the changing seasons. Her work often reflects her deep connection to the environment and her ability to find extraordinary details in ordinary scenes. Tammy believes the closer we are to nature, the easier it will be to educate people about environmental awareness and protect vulnerable species.

Mal Muratori, Environmental Educator
Mal Muratori grew up in Albany, NY, where their fascination with the natural world stemmed from backyard tree climbing, forest fort building, and unsupervised snake wrangling. From a young age they utilized art as a mechanism for communication, portraying tales of imaginary worlds, emotions and inner reflections. Mal’s work includes wildlife portraiture completed in watercolors, acrylics, and oil paint focused on displaying the unique and playful personalities of their subjects. You can see Mal’s current work in the VINS songbird aviary and Beaver Lodge for Young Explorers.

Proceeds from the purchase of artwork from these artists will benefit VINS.
