A native New Englander, Tammy spent most of her career in the Air Force, then in the healthcare industry. She earned her master’s degree in healthcare administration and leadership in 2008. Upon retiring from the Air Force in 2009, Tammy moved into roles focused on improving patient care and operational efficiency. Her military background aided her in implementing innovative solutions and driving positive change within the healthcare organization where she worked. Although Tammy is now semi-retired, she remains passionate about serving the public and grateful to work at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science. As a child, she experienced the beauty of New England’s scenic landscapes, which shaped her love of nature. Having a connection to nature has inspired Tammy to support environmental conservation and education. When Tammy has free time, she enjoys spending time with her granddaughter and family. Among her many interests are photography, hiking, reading, birding, and flowers.
