Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator is a full-time position requiring excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the flexibility to work across Development, Marketing, and Finance departments depending on seasonal needs. The Development Coordinator collaborates on activities such as fundraising events, two annual appeals, and the annual silent auction.

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

JOB LOCATION: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, Vermont

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the Silent Auction related to the Fall Appeal
  • Process donations, generate and track tax receipts and acknowledgement letters
  • Maintain inventory, event materials, and other Development-related administrative tasks
  • Work with the Development and Marketing team in coordinating direct mail appeals
  • Assist with Corporate Sponsorships for annual and special fundraising events
  • Manage member benefits and process new members' requests
  • Manage the constituent database using a Salesforce-based CRM program
  • Serve as the point of contact and logistics manager for certain fundraising events
  • Assist with grant research, writing, and coordination
  • Support the Executive Director with administrative tasks such as preparing for meetings with potential donors, list development, and more
  • Collaborate with the Finance department on monthly and year-end reconciliation

Qualifications

The successful employee must have a belief in the organization's mission, vision, and values, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a professional, positive attitude and strong communication skills. Additional qualifications include:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to track competing priorities and deadlines
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to work some evenings and weekends
  • High ethical standards, particularly when handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Comfort with other digital software platforms or willingness to learn them, such as Google tools, ClickBid for auction management, and a donor-based CRM (preferred)
  • Experience raising funds from diverse sources, including gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations (preferred)

Compensation & Work Schedule

$19 – $21 an hour, 40 hours per week.
