Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator is a full-time position (32-40 hours). The position requires excellent constituent, Board of Trustee and department relations, organizational and communication skills. The Development Coordinator is responsible for implementing a broad suite of fundraising activities which include special fundraising events, spring and fall appeals, and the Silent Auction. This position has significant opportunities to assume responsibilities across a wide range of fundraising, relationship building, marketing and communications.

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Development

JOB LOCATION: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, Vermont

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the organization’s constituent database using Sales Force-VeeVart CRM program, including creating queries, preparing management reports, and analyzing data to increase funding and responsiveness to constituents
  • Coordinates communications and schedules meetings with donors and sponsors
  • Overseeing all fundraising activities, direct mail appeals, renewals and corporate partnership initiatives
  • Cultivates relationships with current supporters, Board and individual donors
  • Prepares background reports on prospective donors
  • Coordinates appeal and gift processing and assists with all development and marketing administrative functions
  • Works with the Marketing and Development Committee of the Board of Trustees on fundraising
    and events, attends Board of Trustee meetings and assists with the minutes for each meeting
  • Assume role in planning and executing all fundraising events, manage event logistical details, serving as the point of contact with supporters, sponsors, and attendees
  • Organize online silent auction procurement efforts, and prepare auction materials
  • Record and track event data and constituent information
  • Process donations, generate and track tax-receipts and acknowledgement letters
  • Complete matching gift forms, donor advised funds, stock transfers, bequest forms and protocols
  • Help ensure the smooth operation of the office and other duties
  • Maintain and build the memorial program to a viable source of income for the organization
  • Work with the Finance office on monthly and year end reconciliation

Qualifications

The successful employee must be proficient at using standard Microsoft Office applications – including Excel, Word, Adobe, and Google – as well as the donor-based CRM software. Experience in raising funds from diverse sources, including major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
