Director of Marketing and Public Relations

SUMMARY: The Director of Marketing and PR coordinates and directs all marketing efforts, working with a small team. Benefits-level position (30-40 hours).

PURPOSE: To advance the VINS mission and strategic goals by increasing awareness, visitation, attendance, membership, and philanthropic support.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

JOB LOCATION: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, Vermont

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing strategies to implement in collaboration with the marketing team and Senior Directors.
  • Strategize with the Marketing and Development committee of the Board of Trustees to create campaigns to promote the Nature Center and its departments: Education, Research, Rehabilitation, and the Welcome Center.
  • Manage a professional consistency of voice/style in the production of video, social media, brochures, annual reports, advertisements, and other mediums.
  • Develop monthly email marketing campaigns, reaching all constituents: donors, volunteers, members, and the public.
  • Partner with the development team to create a semi-annual newsletter in support of the Spring and Fall Appeal.
  • Develop and maintain connections with the media and create press releases.

Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Management experience
  • Knowledge of programs such as WordPress, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and a Customer Relationship Management Software
