View other careers at VINS Facilities & Maintenance VINS is looking for an individual who will be involved in all aspects of ensuring our Nature Center is clean, well maintained and safe for all our guests and employees. A successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail and the initiative and ability to address issues as they arise. We are seeking someone who is comfortable with operating and maintaining a variety of equipment, hand and power tools. Previous experience in the custodial field, as well as light carpentry, is preferred. The person filling this position will need to be able to work independently and with a team. REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager JOB LOCATION: VINS Nature Center, 149 Natures Way, Quechee, Vermont Responsibilities Landscaping: Assist with managing lawns, gardens, tree and trail maintenance.Snow removal and winter maintenance: Clear walkways and spread grit utilizing sanding and snow removal equipment as well as hand shoveling and sanding.Custodial: Clean public and administrative areas. Routinely inspect the entire campus and parking areas to remove litter and ensure no hazards exist.Preventative and ongoing maintenance: Paint interior and exterior surfaces. Change filters in furnaces, air handlers, commercial dehumidifiers and other equipment. Routinely inspect playgrounds, Forest Canopy Walk and other exhibits to ensure safe working order.Perform routine maintenance on all mechanical equipment.Set up and break down events / clean and reset spaces after events.Assist with building renovations and other types of construction projects as skills allow.
