Are you interested in volunteering at VINS, but aren’t able to commit to a weekly schedule? Apply to be a volunteer transporter.
Each year, VINS Center for Wild Bird Rehabilitation takes in over 1,000 birds. Sometimes the birds are found far from VINS and our staff call on volunteers to help transport the birds to our facility in Quechee, VT. So far this year our fantastic transporters have helped deliver nearly 250 birds to VINS.
Requirements to be a Volunteer Transporter:
- Reliable vehicle
- Willing to drive your own vehicle and provide fuel
- Travel round trip to VINS from your area or travel from VINS to bird and return
- 18 or over
- Complete a volunteer application online: https://vinsweb.org/volunteer/
- Willing to sign off on a Volunteer Acknowledgement of Risk
- Able to attend a zoom training on March 17, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm
Please fill out an application online and attend the mandatory zoom training on March 17, 2024 at 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
