MARCH 5 - Join VINS Executive Director Alden Smith to explore the poetry of Robert Frost. This session will be dedicated to reading and interpreting poems relevant to the season. The workshops will involve gentle trail walking through the woods and meadow of the VINS Nature Center, visiting natural spaces reminiscent of locations Frost wrote about. Poems will be sent to participants in advance of the session for those who want to read the poems ahead of time. The workshop will include walking, presentation, and discussion.

MARCH 15 - NH RESIDENTS - Get up close with majestic birds, wander through the enchanting Songbird Aviary, climb and play in the Adventure Playscape, trek our scenic Nature Trails, and don’t miss the breathtaking Forest Canopy Walk. Discover the fascinating world of birds in our Birds Are Dinosaurs exhibit, immerse yourself in the wonders of the Forest Exhibit, and come face-to-face with incredible creatures in the Reptile Room.

MARCH 15 - In this workshop on tracks and other signs of wildlife, we will investigate wildlife habitat by walking around the nature trails at the VINS. We will be alert for signs of river otters, deer, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, eagles, porcupines, and many other species. Participants should be prepared for walking in snow along woodland trails that are not maintained for human foot travel in the winter. This event is hosted by Vermont Woodlands and led by Alden Smith, Executive Director at VINS.
