The Vermont Institute of Natural Science invites nature enthusiasts of all ages to attend the 10th Annual Owl Festival on Saturday, April 26, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the VINS Nature Center in Quechee, Vermont.

This beloved annual event offers visitors a rare opportunity to get up close with a diverse collection of live owls from Vermont’s forests and around the world. Attendees will learn about these magnificent birds of prey, their unique adaptations, and conservation challenges they face. The 2024 Owl Festival attracted over 2,200 attendees, and VINS expects a similar turnout this April.

“The VINS Owl Festival has become a cherished springtime tradition for families throughout New England,” said Hannah Gelroth, Senior Director, Education. “This year’s celebration will be yet another educational and engaging day, showcasing the remarkable diversity of owl species and raising awareness about their vital role in our ecosystem.”

The day-long festival features:

  • Live owl presentations with species from Vermont and around the globe
  • Interactive crafts inspired by owls
  • Educational games that test participants’ “owl skills”
  • Conservation information about supporting local owl populations
  • Free Commemorative 2025 Owl Festival stickers for VINS members
