About VINS School Programs

VINS School Programs enhance the STEM, science inquiry and place-based education in schools across the Upper Valley through embedded teacher professional development and direct student instruction. VINS Science Educators work collaboratively with teachers to plan, execute and review lessons designed to excite and engage students while increasing teachers pedagogical content knowledge. Each Science Educator has a Master of Education degree, is a highly qualified teacher, and holds a teaching license in Vermont and New Hampshire. We provide resources and ongoing support for implementing hands-on science and place-based lessons that are responsive to the needs of teachers and are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

To to bring VINS School Programs to your school, complete our School Programs Interest Form and a VINS Staff Member will be in touch shortly to begin the scheduling process.

VINS School Programs is working hard to plan for the 2020 / 2021 academic year. Whether our interactions are in-person or virtual, we are excited to begin working with our partner schools again. The VINS School Programs team is planning to take the following measures when planning lessons for this coming fall:

  • VINS School Programs is and will continue to closely follow the safety and health guidance provided by the Vermont Agency of Education and Department of Health for the reopening of schools in fall 2020.
  • We are writing grants that will help to support virtual learning experiences for teachers and their students.
  • We are working to sanitize materials and increase the number of content that will be utilized in the classrooms / outdoor classrooms.
  • We are working to plan and prepare more lessons to be conducted outdoors at our partner schools.
  • We are preparing contracts for the upcoming academic year, (per the VT AOE and DoH), to continue our partnership with schools.

These protocols are subject to change at any point to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.
