Dartmouth Students Select VINS to Receive Pop-Up Foundation Grant
In June 2019, 16 students in Dartmouth College’s course “Leadership in Civil Society: Philanthropy in the Nonprofit Sector” invited grant applications to their “pop-up foundation,” formed for the purpose of the class. The students selected VINS, which received $5,000 for its educational programs.

Over the winter, a remarkable transformation has been happening quietly along the banks of the Ottauquechee River in Quechee, VT. At the VINS Nature Center, poles and a walkway have picked up where the nature trail leaves off, lifting off from the forest floor and rising into the treetops.
New Outdoor Classroom
This fall, the “classroom” for many Vermont and New Hampshire children will be in the middle of the woods. A $52,000 grant from Boston-based Jane’s Trust is allowing the Vermont Institute of Natural Science to build an outdoor classroom at its Quechee, VT Nature Center.
